LIFE IS CHANGE
Life is filled with change – it’s almost defined by it.
Changes in our relationships, our careers, our homes, our energy, and health; and, many women in their forties and fifties, experience these changes while tumbling on a wave of hormonal disruption that is perimenopause and menopause.
Change – whether chosen or not – can be frightening and difficult.
Be it the end of a primary relationship, relocating, career transitioning, children leaving the nest, estrogen levels dropping, changes to our body; or the loss of a loved one.
Partly it is a natural fear of the unknown. Partly the pain of unresolved trauma showing up in a new context. Sometimes simply the disruption of what is comfortable and familiar; and, even if the change is welcome, it can be met with two opposing feelings at the same time.
This can bring new levels of stress that disrupt sleep, influence our eating and movement habits, and create wild emotional swings.
But… Transitions can also be an opening to freedom and discovery. A gateway to a stronger more vibrant you. Creativity is the compass and guide Have you ever noticed how you feel like YOU – like, your true, unaffected self – when you’re totally immersed in a creative project? It could be writing, painting, beading, potting, baking, gardening, knitting or anything where you are expressing something that’s uniquely yours. It takes you to that satisfying state–like when you were a child, coloring, playing, running or making mudpies.
Well, that is YOU. It is from this YOU, this wellspring of creativity, that healing emerges. It's a source of insight that equips you to navigate life's transitions, be it menopause, loss, new beginnings, or sudden endings.
